Getting started

Install ameriflux-mcp on macOS, Linux or Windows, connect an MCP client, set up the download identity and tune the configuration.

  • Install ameriflux-mcp - Install ameriflux-mcp on macOS, Linux or Windows with uv and the install script, register it by hand, verify, upgrade or remove it.
  • Quickstart - A first session with ameriflux-mcp: register it with Claude Code, check it with amf_ping, find a tower, check its data and get a citation.
  • Download identity - What AmeriFlux downloads disclose, how to create an account, and how to give ameriflux-mcp your user ID, email and intended use.
  • Clients - Register ameriflux-mcp with Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Goose, OpenCode and VS Code, or a hosted server over HTTP.
  • Configuration - Configure ameriflux-mcp with a YAML file, AMERIFLUX_MCP_ environment variables or flags; precedence rules and every setting with its default.
  • Sync downloads to CyVerse - Mirror the ameriflux-mcp download folder to the CyVerse Data Store with a GoCommands sync script that launchd (macOS) or cron (Linux) runs hourly.
